About Us: Irvine Community Council is a dedicated organisation committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community. We facilitate local initiatives, support community projects, and serve as a bridge between residents and local authorities.
Role Overview: We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual to join our team as a Volunteer Secretary. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our council meetings and administrative tasks. As the Secretary, you will be responsible for maintaining records, preparing agendas, and supporting communication within the council and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and other relevant documents for council meetings.
- Attend council meetings, take accurate minutes, and ensure timely distribution.
- Maintain and update council records and files, both electronic and hard copy.
- Assist in organising community events and initiatives.
- Handle correspondence and communications on behalf of the council.
- Coordinate with council members to ensure follow-up on action items.
- Provide general administrative support to the council as needed.
Requirements:
- Residency Within Existing Community Council Area (see www.irvinecommunitycouncil.org.uk for details).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A passion for community service and involvement.
